About Us

The Entrepreneurs Foundation of Hawai`i is a nonprofit organization that helps develop a culture of community service and philanthropy in early stage Hawai`i companies. EFH supports these companies, which have little time and no spare cash to devote to anything but building their businesses, through:

• Community involvement. EFH helps companies design and implement a community service program that fits their employees’ interests and the companies’ resources.
• Community investment. EFH accepts donations of company stock options. When there is a liquidity event (and pending approval of EFH's application for tax exempt status), the company receives a tax deduction based on the appreciated value of the stock and EFH places 50% of the proceeds in a charitable fund from which the company advises donations to nonprofit organizations.

EFH companies benefit from the loyalty, teamwork, recruiting edge, and visibility created by involvement in community service programs. The community benefits from the volunteer time and money contributed by EFH companies and their employees.
