The nonprofit community in Hawai`i would not survive without the support of generous local corporations. But as more large companies in Hawai`i are acquired by out-of-state or foreign entities, their ties to Hawai`i may weaken and their contributions to the community may decrease. Entrepreneurial companies must be encouraged to take their place and renew the pool of corporate volunteers and philanthropists in Hawai`i .
EF Hawai`i gets new companies involved in the community and helps them establish corporate philanthropy programs. The companies benefit from increased employee loyalty, improved teamwork, recruiting and retention advantages, and visibility in the community. The community benefits from the volunteer time and money contributed by the companies.
